Our Story

Meet the people behind our shop and learn about our journey.

Megan

Co-Owner

My first official job at fourteen years old was at a high end florist, never knowing how deeply I would fall in love with the art. I started from the ground up and learned all the basics from other talented florists. Each shop I worked at allowed for me to grow in my talents and perfect my skills. I am so grateful for all I have learned and all that I continue to learn to this day!

Malorie

Co-Owner

I have had many creative passions over the years; from owning my own vintage shop, designing at Harry and David, and working in a local nursery for six years. All of this experience brought me to where I am now. My love for flowers and interior design have been such an impactful part of my life that has only continued to grow.

Our Journey Together

We met in the most random way, not realizing it would forever change our lives for the better. We actually met at Malorie's shop she had in Jacksonville. When we got to talking, Malorie mentioned how she always wanted to work at a floral shop. As fate has it, we ended up becoming coworkers eventually at a shop in Medford. We immediately clicked and worked so well together. When the opportunity of buying Penny and Lulu presented itself, we thought why not give it a go? Of course, we had only known each other for a few months but we knew it was destined. It was a lot of hard work and a lot of things lining up. After a ton of stress, paperwork, all that fun jazz- we were able to call Penny and Lulu our own.

About Our Shop

Penny and lulu has served the valley with stunning florals for over 30 years! It was started by Susie Penwell and Carol Lowenberg. They created a well known and high end establishment that has designed many events over the years. When Susie passed January 2023, Carol decided to pass down the legacy they created. Megan Caldwell and Malorie Shald purchased the business in April 2023.

We are so honored to carry on such a loved business. We have now owned Penny and Lulu for about 3 years and are so proud of how far it has come. We have been able to make it our own! It is very eclectic, a little bit of everything so anyone can find something they adore. We carry vintage, clothing, plants, gifts, jewelry, flowers (of course) and more! We love helping find the perfect gift for any occasion. Our passion is having locally sourced flowers when in season, locally made items, and other gift items from small businesses all around. We love what we do and hope you love it too!
